Design Model
StarPort Café is a futuristic multi-unit space media and simulation center wrapped around a community-style coffeehouse. Special use units include a simulation media center, 3D theater, the Overview Experience theater, a gift shop and a full-service coffee bar and dining area. Information, entertainment and our eye-catching design combine to delight the eye, inform the mind and inspire the imagination about the New Space Age.
Scattered throughout the facility are large-format, illuminated posters and video screens as well as interactive HD video information kiosks. The overall effect is to immerse our guests in the reality of space as well as the past, present and future of the new age of space travel and exploration. A wide variety of infotainment media, displays and imagery are available.
Both cognitive and media research has demonstrated that conventional media -- words, pictures and video -- is greatly limited in its ability to communicate radically unfamiliar experiences such as space travel. The StarPort design model incorporates this research to produce a variety of infotainment media images and presentations that brings the Earth, space and the new age of space travel vividly to life.
