Our Content

StarPort content is an eclectic mix of traditional space science, technology, historical information, space art, virtual reality and 3D demonstrations as well as entrepreneurial plans and visions for the future of our space-bound civilization.

Our content includes space imagery from NASA and Hubble, along with photos of NewSpace industry vehicles and space stations, displayed on large lenticular screens. Tickling your senses will be the surreal feeling of illusion fusing with reality when you experience such imagery using our revolutionary new video technology that produces visual effects virtually indistinguishable from reality.

Motion-controlled virtual reality recliner chairs with head-mounted displays further immerse guests in the magnificence of the New Space Age, allowing the user to experience Moon and Mars roving, near-Earth spaceflight and various tours of the universe.

Complementing the pictures, videos and holographic displays at our center are audio and video commentary from astronauts, NewSpace and NASA leaders as well as scientists and cultural leaders and observers regarding the impact of the space experience on space travelers and the world.

Since our emphasis is to illustrate the impact of the Overview Effect on mankind, we have listened intently to astronaut descriptions of the space experiences that most influenced them, and use an abundance of photos, graphics and spoken commentary to evoke a taste of their original experiences.

Working with astronauts, space scientists, entrepreneurs, educators, artists and designers, we have sought to compress within the StarPort experience a taste of the wonder and awe experienced by the astronauts as well as a sense of living in a true age of space that characterized our world during the Apollo era.

We have partnered with numerous space media and entertainment producers to provide the widest range of space-themed and futuristic programming. We also work with the science fiction community to inspire new content around themes related to NewSpace and the Overview Effect.

Over time, with greater recognition of StarPort as a unique location-based space community portal, we plan to develop unique entertainment media that will be screened specifically at our venues, using our unique theaters for previews and launches. StarPort Café could possibly become the ideal venue for the growing body of "indie" science fiction creators and film-makers.
